Don’t wrap your thumb around the bar when doing gripping exercises like pull-ups or lat pull-downs. Whenever you unwrap your thumb and place it next to your index finger, you target your back muscles more as opposed to involving your arm muscles. Often times this does not feel comfortable, but it will keep you from working the wrong muscles.
Enjoy some time outside gardening for an easy workout. There are always jobs to perform in the yard, and they require physical exertion. What a winning combination. Try to work in the yard at least once each week to reap the most benefits from the physical activity. You may have such an enjoyable time cultivating a good-looking yard and body that you forget that you are working out.
Wait at least 30 minutes after eating before engaging in physical activity. Exercising with a full stomach can disrupt digestion. This can potentially result in nausea, sickness, diarrhea and even vomiting. Eat something light or drink water before you work out.
The fatigue you feel after a workout is normal but should not last all day. If you feel exhausted throughout the day consider whether it is your diet, sleep habits or your exercise routine. Changing the muscle groups you work out or the type of exercise you do on different days of the week will be helpful if your workout is not allowing for enough recovery time between workouts. It’s important to include cardio work, like aerobics or running, in your routine. If you have enough energy you should also do some strength training.
Avoid fad diets or excessive exercise programs. You are more likely to achieve your weight loss goals if you choose enjoyable exercise programs and a healthy diet you can live with.
